NEPEAN HOCKEY SCHOOL COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Nepean Hockey School prides itself on being part of the Ottawa Community. As Director, and a parent of two active, engaged athletes, James truly sees the value in sports for youth's mental, physical, and emotional health. NHS is committed to giving back to the community, through sponsoring local events, providing scholarship opportunities for staff, and leading initiatives to support inclusivity and access to sport for all.
A few of the ongoing and/or recent initiatives NHS is involved in include:
2023
Promoting inclusion in Sport: Nepean Hockey School has set a goal starting in mid 2023 to have a female coach, mentor, or ambassador on the ice at every session. We recognize the importance of strong role models for our young female players and hope to inspire them through our inclusive staffing commitments.
2022
A TRIPLE LEVEL sponsor for the East Nepean Eagles as they hosted the Little League Intermediate National Baseball Championships.
2022
Offered a $1000 scholarship to one of our on-ice instructors to further his education at the post-secondary level. Our recipient, Josh, is pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree and will be an asset to the future hockey and teaching professions!
Nepean Hockey School manages and operates hockey training sessions for players of all ages.
